Our Community

Nestled in between two mountain ranges, the Blue Ridge and the Alleghenies, at the southernmost part of the Shenandoah Valley, you’ll find the idyllic historic town of Lexington, Virginia.

Home to two prestigious universities, Lexington boasts a thriving art scene, an ideal playground for outdoor enthusiasts, award winning wineries and breweries, and elevated farm-to-table dining. Our historic little town was founded in 1777 and has a current population of 7,500. Though small, the vibrant community has seen a bump in numbers lately, with more and more folks seeking a rural retreat from big city life. And with a cost of living 12% less than the national average, convenient location, and downtown charm, it’s no wonder that families, young professionals, and retirees are searching for homes in this picturesque little valley. If you’ve never visited the area (or even if you have) we’d love to show you around to some of our favorite spots as we help you narrow in on the perfect home or land. In the meantime check out our local tourism website for more information and a calendar of events.
